Data Entry and
Monitoring Process
One of the biggest challenges during this pandemic was to obtain reliable
and accurate data on availability of resources especially in terms of
readiness of our facilities to respond to surge of cases. We had to develop
a sustainable mechanism to ensure constant communication with all State
Health Departments was in place and data on facility preparedness can be
made available on a daily basis.
During the first phase of the pandemic, a group of liaison officers were
identified to provide data on preparedness of facilities such as hospital
beds, ICU beds and number of ventilators and utilisation of quarantine
and treatment centres. The team was consistently in communication with
the State Health Departments to provide input and recommendations on
strategies to enhance facility preparedness.
These analyses were projected to the National and Hospital Services CPRC
as an overview of national and state preparedness especially in regards to
hospital services.
