Establishing the health workforce for the Low
Risk COVID-19 Quarantine & Treatment Centre
(PKRC MAEPS)
The establishment of PKRC MAEPS as the Fastest to Complete
Interim Treatment Centre – completed in 4 days (MBR, 2020), meant
rising to the challenge of preparing a ready health workforce over a
short period of time. This 1000 bedded treatment facility required 665
number of health personnel that included doctors, nurses, paramedics,
and allied healthcare workers. To this end, staff were mobilised on a
2-4 weekly rotational basis, from various healthcare facilities within
