REFER to "Who represents doctors" (Letters, Jan 4). The Health Ministry would like to clarify that the Malaysian Medical Association is not the only medical association that represents doctors in Malaysia. There are many other organisations such as Academy of Medicine Malaysia, Primary Care Doctors Organisation, Islamic Medical Association, Public Health Specialist Association, Academy of Family Physician Association of Malaysia and Association of Private Hospital. These medical associations frequently raise workrelated issues and the interest of doctors to relevant authorities.

As for doctors working with the government, their welfare is being taken -care of by the government They can discuss any issue with their head of department.
