Malaysia’s healthcare travel industry, Malaysia Healthcare, has experienced
continued growth since its establishment in 2011, including a CAGR record of 16%
between 2015 to 2019. Driven by Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC), an
agency under the purview of the Ministry of Health Malaysia tasked to promote
and facilitate the industry, Malaysia Healthcare reaped a revenue of MYR1.7 million
from nearly 1.3 million healthcare travellers, resulting in a total economic impact of
MYR 7 billion, contributing 7.7% to total tourism receipts. From humble beginnings
