The Struggle Is Real…

During these crucial moments, all existing local
resources must be utilised at the optimum level. With
the cooperation and support of various parties such
as other government and private agencies, local
manufacturers, textile and fashion companies, the
reliance on PPE imported goods is reduced with the
initiative of collaboration and cooperation between
local manufacturers from different areas of expertise
in the production of PPE. This also allowed for a
more competitive price for PPE to be obtained during
price negotiation meeting for central emergency
PPE procurement. For instance, the collaborations
formed between fabric manufacturers and non-woven
material suppliers with sewing mills for the production
of PPE isolation gown, head cover and boot cover.
30 April 2020 was a milestone achievement as the
Central Emergency Procurement of PPE was able to
procure at least three (3) months stockpile of PPE.
