main strategy used by the Ministry

of Health. This meant that all
positive cases were admitted,

monitored and treated at our
facilities. Guidelines on clinical 3

management which include
clinical staging, warning signs and
risk stratification were developed 2
to assist healthcare workers
identify, treat and manage these
individuals. The 5 clinical staging 1
that was developed enable early
identification of patients at risk of
deterioration, hence they could
be treated and referred early for
ventilatory support. This helped
ensure that our patients received
high quality medical care which in
turn led to high recovery and low
mortality rates.
