Keeping Everyone
in the Loop
The novelty of this pandemic only means huge
volumes of new and rapidly changing information.
Managing the flow and accuracy of information at
such a time as this is essential. The strategic and
risk communication unit plays a key role in ensuring
the right information is disseminated well. Much of
its workload involves communication with internal
stakeholders.
To do this, the team engages in several methods of
communication to circulate information. While email
and web portals do provide this avenue; given the
rapidity of news and development the team engages
with communication via WhatsApp. Here several
groups with specific members were created where
relevant information is shared. To facilitate appropriate
sharing of information, the group maintains a total
of 15 chat groups that involve various stakeholders
including MOH Hospital Directors, private healthcare
providers, other agencies and universities amongst
others.
